Using video captured through my digital camera, I stitched together a short film containing insignificant and significant moments of my life.

This project was centered around grief. How one will go about experiencing the highs and lows of life, yet the perception and significance of these experiences can be changed by grief. When we overcome grief and look back on those times, they become rose-tinted through the eye of the beholder.

While my internal feelings and experiences differ from others’, grief hurts the same for everyone. I asked my audience prior to playing my show, to recall a time of grief as they watched it, so that we could all be connected in the same nostalgia that grief brings. This show is presented as if the audience is seated inside their own mind, each recalling different events, whilst all being unified in a moment of vulnerability.

After presenting my light show, some of the audience came to me individually and shared how my show gave them a chance to re-reflect on their moments of grief. Some shared what those personal moments of grief were to me, all of which were a true honor to hear and see how my work can evoke such emotion and unity with people.
